What you might be wondering.
Do I need a medical exam?
No. Every carrier in our panel offers no-medical-exam coverage. Some plans ask basic health questions to qualify for the cheapest tier; guaranteed-issue plans ask none.
How much coverage should I buy?
Average burial costs about $8,300 nationally; cremation about $5,500. Most buyers pick $10K–$15K to cover the funeral plus a small buffer for outstanding bills.
When does my coverage start?
Level (day-one) plans start the moment you pay your first premium. Graded plans pay 30%/70%/100% in years 1/2/3+. Guaranteed-issue plans return premium plus interest in years 1–2 and full benefit from year 3.
Can I be denied?
You can be declined for level or graded plans based on health. You cannot be denied a guaranteed-issue plan if you're within the carrier's age range. Our calculator shows you the best plan tier you qualify for.
Will my premium go up?
No. Final-expense whole-life premiums are level — fixed at the price you locked in when the policy was issued. They don't change with age or health.
What if I change my mind?
Every state requires a free-look period (typically 10–30 days). You can cancel for any reason within that window and receive a full refund.
